The Center for Surgical Weight Loss at Hahnemann University Hospital is led by Andres Castellanos, MD, medical director. Each member of the weight loss surgery team – pulmonologists, anesthesiologists, cardiologists, psychiatrists, nutritionists, and weight loss surgeons – is directly involved in evaluating potential patients for weight loss surgery.
Our care team is dedicated to an individualized care model designed to give each patient the tools and guidance they may need to achieve optimal success.
Our surgical team routinely performs the gastric bypass (Roux-en-y), gastric banding, and sleeve gastrectomy procedures, primarily using the laparoscopic and the traditional open technique, depending on the patient’s individual needs.
