Andres Castellanos, MD, Medical Director
Andres Castellanos, MD is the director of Hahnemann’s Center for Surgical Weight Loss and assistant professor of Surgery and associate surgical program director for the Drexel University College of Medicine. With clinical expertise in laparoscopic and bariatric surgeries, his research has focused on the use of laparoscopic tools for robotically assisted minimally invasive surgeries – the future of robotic surgeries and gastro-intestinal surgeries in obese patients.
Dr. Castellanos completed a surgery internship and residency at the Medical College of Pennsylvania Hospital, and research fellowships in minimally invasive surgery and robotics at Drexel University College of Medicine. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Medical Society, the American Medical Association and the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons as well as the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, Society of Laparoscopic Surgery and Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery Association.

Mary Ellen Volb, BSN, RN, Clinical Nurse Coordinator
Mary Ellen Volb has extensive knowledge of all aspects of bariatric surgery and is proficient in caring for medically complex patient populations. A summa cum laude graduate of LaSalle University, she previously provided care at a bariatrics clinic

Kristin Raebiger, RD, LDN, Program Nutritionist
Kristin Raebiger is a graduate of West Chester University, and has a B.S. in Nutrition/Dietetics. She completed her dietetic internship with Sodexo in the New Jersey and Philadelphia Metro areas, and has more than 6 years experience providing comprehensive nutrition assessments in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. Kristin’s experience includes - but is not limited to - weight loss counseling and behavior modification, diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease and renal disease. Her passion is to help individuals regain their health with the help of surgery, nutrition, behavior modification and continued support throughout their lifetime.

Carolynn Nutter, Program Manager
Carolynn Nutter is responsible for overall planning and management of the Center’s services as well as community outreach and marketing efforts. She has nearly 20years of administrative experience in the field of health care, most recently serving as executive assistant to the CEO of Hahnemann. She is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree at Drexel University.

Shikisha Williams (“Shi,” as she is known to the team), has nine years’ experience providing administrative support, most recently as the Administrative Assistant for Hahnemann’s Human Resources Department.
